The government of Nigeria agrees to lift the ban on Twitter after the company accepts certain conditions.
Nigeria put the ban on Twitter 7 months ago when the social media company deleted a post by the Nigerian president Muhammadu Bahari.
Twitter will have to manage its legal registration status in Nigeria, manage its taxes and treat the ‘prohibited content’ in accordance to the Nigerian laws in order to be operational again in Nigeria.
Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi the director of the Nigeria’s National Information Technology Development Agency states that the ban on Twitter will be lifted from midnight of 13 January 2022.
